Next Stop……CPF’s

I’m finding that the ‘J’ train is becoming heavily infected with what I call CPF’s. A CPF (cellphone fool) is the person that carries a loud, obnoxious, unnecessary conversation on a subway train. Here are some of the topics that I’ve heard. “We gonna be blowing up after we sign that record deal next mumph. Nobody’s heard sh*t like we doin” or “Yo it’s me. Yeah, I’m on the train one stop away. So I’ll see you in about five minutes.” My personal favorite is “Hey, I’m on the train. Turn the tv to channel whatever. Turn the volume up higher…..I can’t hear.”

I only mention this because I was able to successfully chase one away by having a louder, more ridiculous conversation. After 3 minutes of me screaming, “What! I think my phone might be broke! Say it again! I think it’s getting better!” That, mixed in with other dialogue and loud laughing, was enough for her to leave my area while glaring at me. She was bothered that my dumb conversation drowned out hers.
