The City partnered with five banks and five credit unions to offer the NYC SafeStart Account to all New Yorkers. The NYC SafeStart Account is a safe and affordable “starter” account.

Their special features include:

No overdraft fees
No monthly fees, provided minimum balances are met
Minimum balance requirements of $25 or less
ATM Card (no debit card)

Two banks right here in Bedford-Stuyvesant are participating banks.
